Life Drawing 2

Here are some more recent works from the life drawing class. I've started experimenting with colour and mixing media. We had a live pianist in the class today which was a treat!

Life drawing

Since the start of the year I've been attending life drawing classes. The poses are between 2 and 20 minutes and there is a different model every 2 weeks - so there's a lot of variety. I prefer to work in ink and have found this medium to be particularly effective for shorter poses.

Southpaw

I attend life-drawing classes in Bethnal Green on Monday evenings. Last week at the class the tutor asked us to make a few quick sketches with the hand you don't regularly use (for me that's the left). I was initially dubious about the idea but was really pleasantly surprised by the results. In many ways this technique helped me to draw more honestly, forcing me to record the forms I could see, not the forms that I thought I should see.
